Hello , i am writing a thesis about performance measurement of R&D activities in the software sector . I have some KPI s related to this topic ,but i think they are more about detail and and they are mostly used for the unit bases of R&D . But i need more comprehensive KPI s which can be used for all the R&D companies in the software sector. I hope you can help me about this issue. Thank you so much in advance

Hi Edibe,
The R&D in any niche, or specifically in the software development is the technology and the art at the same time. For sure, you can measure the technological part. But one need to be clear about what answers are being looked for. For example, take “The number of returning problems,” you can certainly measure it for any software team company, but the answers won’t make a lot of sense unless questions are asked in a specific context.
