The right way to approach this would be to start with a model of your current business situation. The goal is to find the bottlenecks, e.g. functions that are limiting your performance. That´s the first starting point for the measurement. That´s the difficult way to do this, but you can expect to have a good scorecard in the end (the one that gives you some insights and supports your decision making). You will obviously need a guide on this, and the 10 Step KPI System book will be very helpful.
The easier way is to get started with some KPI templates, for example, this one for facility management from the commercial library.

KPIs or Strategy – which comes first?

  • You will need to understand what your customers want and
  • How to give them what they want in the most effective way.
  • You will need to think about your competitors and, for sure, about your team.
Sounds like something complex? Not at all! Use this free Strategy Map Wizard and you will have your strategy map in 6 minutes.
