WinningKPI - IT Security - KPI for Measuring of % of Email spam messages detected/ stopped posted in category IT Security KPI details: This indicator is for measuring the email spam messages that have been detected/stopped, as a % of all spam emails, in a given time period (e.g. one month).
It is important that this KPI is maximised in order to achieve high IT Security, as spam emails carry a wide range of security threats.
If this % is low, the company may choose to assess factors that influence this figure, such as staff time spent on detecting spam emails, performance % of systems protecting from spam emails etc.
Formula:
Total number of spam email detected or stopped / Total number of spam emails x 100
KPI Unit: %
KPI Time Frame: update monthly

As part of measuring the IT Security performance, a company is measuring the % of spam email messages that have been detected / stopped, over a month period.
Formula is calculated as below:
Total number of spam email detected or stopped / Total number of spam emails x 100
Total number of spam emails: 600
Total number of spam emails detected or stopped: 400
% of Email Spam Messages Detected/Stopped
400/600 x 100 = 66.7 %
The higher this KPI, also the higher the security threat, as spam provoke harm to the operational system.
