WinningKPI - Banking - KPI for Measuring of Average Sum Deposited in New Deposit Accounts posted in category Banking

KPI details:KPI Expert Oana Boteanu

This indicator is for measuring the average sum deposited in new deposit accounts. This is calculated by dividing the total value deposited in new deposit accounts by the total number of new deposit accounts, in a given time period (e.g. one year).

The aim of the bank is to increase this KPI, and a higher figure generally means a higher profit for the bank.

This is an important measure for the bank's financial performance management.

However, it only offers an average number. In order to gain a deeper insight, the bank’s management team may choose to look at this KPI per type of New Deposit accounts etc.

Formula:

Total amount deposited in new deposit accounts/total number of deposit accounts

KPI Units: money

KPI Time Frame: update annually

In order to measure the average amount deposited in new deposit account, over a 3 months period, a bank uses the formula below:

Total amount deposited in new deposit accounts/total number of deposit accounts

Total amount deposit in new deposit accounts: $350 000

Total new deposit accounts: 120

$350 000/120 = $2917

The result shows an average of approximately $3000 are deposited per new deposit account.
