This indicator is for measuring of the performance of 60 volunteer medics in the United Arab Emirates to educate their community parents and domestic staff specifically on preventing of child injury & pediatric first aid.
Each volunteer will be expected to deliver a minimum of 10 workshops per year within their community with a goal of increasing their awareness and knowledge and reducing the high volumes of child injuries and fatalities in the region.
Each volunteer to educate a minimum of 300 individuals per year
KPI time frame update once a month
This KPI is aligned to "Identify an increase in the knowledge of parents and home help" post the workshops.

I would start with dividing process and result aspects. The process aspect in your case involves the number of workshops and other activities. You can come up with KPIs for these processes, but they will measure the process, not the result. (I'm not saying that the process should not be measured).
The result in your case is some tangible improvement in the knowledge of parents that will prevent child injuries. The most obvious KPI in your case will be "The number of child injuries", but without proper alignment with strategic objectives it will be hard to distinguish the change of this KPI caused by your activities and some random factors.
I suggest you to start with mapping your strategy (you can use BSC Designer for that purpose http://www.bscdesigner.com ). Then I'm sure, it will be much easier to come up with proper KPIs.
For example, I'm sure that workshops that volunteer medics will do will address specific issues with child security and safety. For the KPI you can take no a general "The number of child injuries" measure, but find a specific measure for the problems that volunteer will address.
