KPI for Measuring of % of Employees Receiving Regular Performance Reviews posted in category HR

WinningKPI - HR - KPI for Measuring of % of Employees Receiving Regular Performance Reviews posted in category HR Oana Boteanu Details:
This indicator is for measuring the number of employees receiving regular performance reviews as a % of the total number of employees. This is calculated by dividing the total number of employees receiving regular performance by the total number of employees.
A high performance HR Department would aim to keep this KPI at 100% through annual appraisals and well trained line managers.
This KPI can also be used to measure the performance of the HR Department, as Staff Performance Management is at the foundation of HR Practices.

Formula:
Total number of employees receiving regular performance reviews / total number of employees x 100

KPI Unit: %

KPI Time Frame: update annually

KPI Expert I work for the HR department and a year ago we have introduced a new staff performance m management system. The aim was to improve the staff performance management and standardize it across the organisation. All employees had to complete the same type of staff performance management, review it every 3 months etc.
However, at the end of the year HR carried out an evaluation to analyse how successful the new system has been.
To our disappointment the figures were low with only 100 out of the 300 employees having had reviews completed regularly.
100/300 x 100 = 33 %
The result was below any KPI, as we hoped for an 80% rate. Hence, we carried out a 3 days training period where we showed manages and employees (again) how to use the system. Also, we worked with the management team to make performance reviews a requirement and for the next year we plan to take a ‘police approach’ were we so much as force the hand of the managers to carry out the reviews.
Not a nice thing to do, but necessary.
