In other words, it measures the impact that CRM efforts have had on net profit growth, as a% of total net profit growth (assuming growth), in a given time period.
For instance, a company that has put in place new CRM practices and systems may choose to measure the impact of these new implementations on net profit growth over a year period.
The result may show a that 10% of the total increase on net profit is due to the introduction of loyalty cards, company personalized email offers etc.

Total Net Profit Growth: $500 000
Total Net Profit Growth due to CRM effort: $150 000
% of Net Profit Growth due to CRM effort
150 000 / 500 000 x 100 = 30 %
Hence, 30% of the total net profit growth has been due to CRM effort.
