Lost Time Incident (LTI)
Description: A type of incident/accident that results in injury and prevents the worker from working.
It order to save costs a company will to minimize the number of LTIs, as this will be directly proportional with the time lost due to injury.
It is very important that accurate statistics are kept of the LTIs, and strategic action should be taken to minimize them.
Reduce Accident Rate
This KPI is another important HSE performance indicator.
% Reduction in Accident Rate (over 6 month period)
Reduced accident rate/initial accident rate x 100
Initial Accident Rate or Total Accident Rate
To calculate this companies usually measure the total number of accidents per 100 employees, over a given time period – or at a snapshot in time.
